Applications - Weeks 7 through 12

Week Seven
- You have developed a new type of athletic shoe that helps people run faster and jump higher. Write a television commercial that shows the benefits of these new athletic shoes. Give the shoes a name.
- Imagine that you and a friend are taking a walk. Suddenly a puff of smoke appears beside you. When the smoke clears, your friend is gone. Write a story describing what happened to your friend.
- Pretend that your school has started a radio station. You are a radio announcer. What school events would you announce? What type of music would you play?
- Imagine you have found a crystal ball that can tell you about your future. What do you see when you look into it?
- You have opened a new store called “Free Stuff.” Everything in the store is free. Describe the items in your store, and explain why you think they should be free.
Week Eight
- Write 3 prgs about your weekend.
- Write 3 prgs about something in the news.
- Write 3 prgs about your week in Review. Looking back what would you change, why? How can you learn from making the same mistakes twice?
Week Nine
- Write 3 prgs about what is on your mind.
- if you could preserve some of your possessions for future generations to find, what would you preserve? What would your possessions tell future generations about your life?
- Pretend that you have supersonic hearing. Describe what one of these everyday activities sounds like when you use your special power: a pencil writing on paper, a person breathing, a pin dropping.
- What is the difference between courage and recklessness?
- Imagine that trees feel pain when they are cut down, or feel cold when they lose their leaves. Write a short story from a tree’s point of view.
Week Ten
- Write three challenging math word problems that involve everyday events in your life.
- If you could have traveled with any explorer, whom would you have chosen? Why?
- Imagine that while you sleep a machine attached to your head will project your dreams onto a television screen. Describe what might be seen on the television screen.
- We have colored pencils, markers, crayons, and paintbrushes. Create a new type of coloring tool. How might it apply color to paper or another surface? Describe this new coloring tool and give it a name.
- Who is your favorite character from your favorite book? Describe what might happen if your favorite character came to live with you for a few days
Week Eleven
- If you could preserve some of your possessions for future generations to find, what would you preserve? What would your possessions tell future genereations about your life? 3 prgs.
- What do you think makes people attractive? What if everyone looked the same? What might attract people to other people? 3prgs
- your lates book has made you a best-selling author. Write the title of your book and a brief summary of it. 3prgs.
- Write 3 prgs about something in the news.

Week Twelve
- You have won a shopping spree. You may go into the store of your choice and grab up as much merchandise as you can in five minutes. Which store would you choose? What would be your shopping strategy?
- Do animals have thoughts and feelings? Write a story from an animal's point of view, describing a typical day.
- If you could give a homeless person one gift, what would the gift be? Why?. 3prgs.
- If you could change your life, what would you chage about it? How might your life be defferent as a result? How might someone else's life be defferent if you changed your life?
- Imagine that you could have any animal as a pet. What animal would you choose? Why? What would your life be like with that animal as a pet?
